Role

The Project Manager position will have overall accountability for managing the Electrical, Instrumentation and Automation scope associated with related project efforts within our Engineering and Design Team in order to meet the expectations of the Executive Vice President of Catch Engineering and our customers.

The Project Manager will function as part of a comprehensive team providing leadership, management and oversight over other project team members. This role will require a strong understanding of teams and experience in leadership.

The individual within this role will be able to work effectively as a team leader and adapt to various situations quickly while maintaining the highest level of professionalism. The individual will possess strong trouble shooting abilities and be able to formulate comprehensive strategies for resolving project challenges presented.

Areas of Accountability

Project Life Cycle –

  • Planning and defining scope. Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) creation
  • Activity planning and sequencing
  • Resource planning
  • Developing schedules
  • Time estimating
  • Cost estimating
  • Developing a budget
  • Risk analysis
  • Managing risks and issues
  • Monitoring and reporting progress
  • Team leadership
  • Strategic influencing
  • Working with vendors
  • Controlling quality
  • Project close out
  • Lessons learned

Team Management and Mentorship –

  • Provides support to project team members as required
  • Shares lessons learned, risks and opportunities with other team members
  • Provides a positive role model for the team in providing optimal, customer-driven service to the project
  • Embraces, promotes and rewards behaviors that are consistent with the project guiding principles
  • Drives Catch Engineering involvement and value-addition in all aspects of the project lifecycle

Qualification Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Bachelors in Engineering or a Diploma in Technology in a related field or equivalent relative experience
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering project experience
  • Good level knowledge base in various project management related technologies and practices
  • Experience making commercial / business decisions
  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite of tools
  • Strong command of the English language (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong personal relationships
  • Working knowledge of the Oil & Gas and / or Utility marketplace
  • Experience with working on multiple projects
  • Effective organization and team coordination skills
