Throughout Hartley’s career, he has sought technical acumen as an electrical engineer. Focusing on industrial facilities and more specifically power systems, industrial systems and hazardous environments, Hartley is recognized as a strong technical leader in addition to a very capable business leader. Hartley’s over 25 years of engineering experience, from plant engineering through to fabrication, construction, and consulting, led Hartley to co-found Catch Engineering in 2006.
Hartley provides leadership and direction to the Catch Engineering organization through his role as CEO. Hartley continues to remain involved in the day-to-day engagement activities of project execution and delivery as well as technical leadership as a means of ensuring he remains close to the focus of Catch Engineering’s success – our clients.
Hartley has a strong commitment to his province, profession, and community. In addition to Catch Engineering, Hartley has pursued regulatory, leadership and volunteering opportunities on various boards and organizations within Alberta, including APEGA, Alberta Health Services and the EIEEA (Energy Industry Electrical Engineering Associates).
Hartley received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alberta in 1996. He also maintains his Professional Engineering registration in Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, the Yukon, and the Northwest Territories. In 2016, Hartley completed his Institute of Corporate Directors certification.
When Hartley is not at work, he is focused on spending time with his family, including his four children.
