Lionel is a professional engineer with 25+ years of experience in electric power systems (substation layout design, equipment sizing, engineering calculations, P&C architecture) providing services to Catch as an independent contractor.
Highlighted skills include: development of electric power distribution systems from FEED to final design per ANSI, IEEE Standards, CEC, API codes & client specifications; application of good engineering judgement to provide technical support during project construction, testing & commissioning; performance of power system modeling/ studies, ground grid designs/ studies and protection coordination studies using ETAP V22.0 & CDEGS software, Circuit breaker TRV & Insulation Coordination studies using PSCAD/EMTP software V5; development of RFQs, construction work packages (CWP) and equipment specifications/data sheets for assigned projects; evaluation of design alternatives , resolution of complex field problems, and executing Management of Change (MOC).
Lionel received his Bachelor of Science, Engineering in Electrical Power, from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, and his Post Graduate Diploma in Electric Power Distribution Systems, from the Norwegian University of Science & Technology. He maintains his Professional Engineer registration in Alberta, BC, Saskatchewan, Ontario and New Brunswick, and is a Senior Member (SMIEEE) at The Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers (IEEE).
